About

We are a registered charity run by a group of volunteers, supporting the wonderful Judith Kerr Primary School through fundraising and extra-curricular activities.

If your child attends Judith Kerr Primary School, or you are a Guardian/Carer, or a member of staff, you are automatically a member of the Friends of Judith Kerr Primary School (FoJKPS).

Our objective is to develop effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school, and to engage in activities or provide facilities or equipment which support the school and enrich the children’s learning experience.

We organise events for our JKPS families and community, provide extra-curricular support to the school and run fundraising efforts throughout the year. All money raised goes towards school-led projects. To see our past projects, head here.

How do we work with the school?

The Senior Leadership Team at the school will approach us with specific ideas for fundraising focuses; these will usually involve items, equipment or experiences that are supplementary to those that the school/Trust’s capital expenditure will provide. Sometimes the focuses can change once set, and this may be because of timing or circumstances. We are always guided in our decision-making on expenditure by what the school sets as a priority, and the need to benefit as many children as possible.

Annual Report and Accounts

As we are a registered charity, we hold an annual AGM. The Chairs’ report from the 2024 AGM can be read here. The slides from the AGM can be viewed here. If you’d like to view our annual accounts, they can be found here on the Charity Commission’s website.
